Flowers were a little past best in the image!
A pretty annual aster with an apricot flower and a yellow centre. Pretty in the garden and a great cut flower.
To sow: Sow indoors in Feb to early April. Can be sown directly from April. Surface sow onto moist, well-drained seed compost. Ideal temp.16-18°C. Germination takes 1-2 wks. Pot on if planted early and then harden off before moving to final spot outside from May. If sowing direct, sow 6mm deep in drills 30cm apart in prepared soil.
Like most flowers prefers a well drained sunny spot. Dehead and cut to encourage repeat bloomers. Add to a crop rotation plan as it should be moved each year as you would other flowers/veg to avoid soil borne diseases.
